2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2-3 green peppers, chopped
½ large spoon of garlic (roshun), minced
½ large spoon of salt
½ large spoon of turmeric (holud)
1 lb shrimp, cleaned and peeled
1 Lao (bottle gourd), peeled and cut into pieces
2 small bowls of water
Start Cooking the Base:
Add oil to a pot and heat on medium-high.
Add the chopped onion and green peppers, stirring until softened.
Add the minced garlic, salt, and turmeric.
Cook the Shrimp:
Add the shrimp to the pot and stir to coat with the spices.
Cover the pot with a lid and cook on high heat.
Prepare the Lao & Simmer:
Peel and cut the Lao into small pieces.
Add the Lao and two small bowls of water to the pot.
Stir everything well to combine.
Final Cooking:
Cover the pot again and let everything cook on high heat until fully cooked and tender.
