1 yellow onion, chopped into medium-sized chunks
2 russet potatoes, chopped into medium-sized chunks
8 chicken drumsticks, washed thoroughly
A handful of green Indian chili peppers, sliced down the middle
¼ large spoon of turmeric powder
¼ large spoon of red chili powder
A handful of crushed cardamom, black pepper, 4 sticks of cinnamon, cloves, salt, and bay leaves
1 small spoon garlic and ginger paste
2 large spoons of vegetable oil
Prep the Vegetables & Chicken:Chop the onion and russet potatoes into medium-sized chunks.
Wash the chicken thoroughly.
Start Cooking the Base: Place a pot on the stove and add the chopped onions.
Add the sliced green Indian chili peppers.
Add turmeric powder and red chili powder.
Add the crushed cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon sticks, cloves, salt, and bay leaves.
Add the garlic and ginger paste.
Pour in the vegetable oil.
Cook the Chicken: Turn the stove to high heat.
Stir well and let the pot simmer with the lid on until the chicken is fully cooked.
(No need to add extra water, as the chicken will release its own.)
Add the Potatoes & Finish Cooking: Once the chicken is cooked, add the chopped potatoes and continue cooking until they are tender.
