Vegetable oil (as needed)
1 onion, chopped
Salt (to taste)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Shrimp (quantity to taste, cleaned and deveined)
1 teaspoon chili powder
Water (as needed)
Asparagus (quantity to taste, cut into pieces)
Cook the Onion:
Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent.
Add Spices and Shrimp:
Add salt and turmeric powder to the pan and stir well.
Add the cleaned shrimp and stir to combine with the onion and spices.
Add Chili Powder:
Add chili powder to the pan and stir to evenly coat the shrimp.
Increase Heat and Add Water:
Turn the stove to high heat.
Add water to the pan and stir to combine.
Add Vegetables:
Add the asparagus or okra to the pan and stir well.
Bring the mixture close to a boil.
Simmer:
Once close to boiling, reduce the heat to low.
Let the mixture simmer until the vegetables are softened and the flavors are well combined.
Serve:
Once the vegetables are tender and the dish is fully cooked, remove from heat.
Serve hot, possibly over rice or with bread.
