1 cup masoor dal
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon doina powder
1/2 teaspoon jeera powder
4-5 green Indian chili peppers, chopped
1 bunch watercress, finely chopped
2 eggs
1 cup besan (gram flour)
Oil (for frying)
Soak the Masoor Dal:
Soak 1 cup of masoor dal overnight in water.
Prepare the Masoor Dal:
The next morning, wash and drain the soaked masoor dal.
Blend the dal once or twice until you achieve a coarse mixture.
Prepare the Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the blended dal, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of doina powder, 1/2 teaspoon of jeera powder, and the chopped green Indian chili peppers.
Add the finely chopped watercress to the mixture.
Add 2 eggs and 1 cup of besan to the bowl.
Mix everything well until a thick batter forms.
Heat the Oil:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Form and Fry the Patties:
Take a portion of the mixture and mold it into a round patty.
Gently press the center of the patty.
Place the patty into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, flipping as needed.
Serve:
Remove the fried patties from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.
