2 boiled potatoes (aloo), mashed
1 boiled egg, diced
1 green pepper, chopped
Fresh cilantro (doina paatha), chopped
1 yellow onion (pez), diced
Salt (to taste)
1 red chili pepper
Vegetable oil (as needed for frying)
1 additional egg (for coating)
Breadcrumbs (for coating)
Prepare the Ingredients:
Boil 2 potatoes until soft, then mash them.
Boil 1 egg, let it cool, and dice it.
Dice the yellow onion and chop the green pepper and fresh cilantro.
Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, diced egg, chopped green pepper, chopped cilantro, and diced onion.
Add salt to taste and mix everything together until well combined.
Prepare the Red Chili Pepper:
Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry the red chili pepper in the oil until it becomes fragrant and slightly browned.
Remove the chili pepper, chop it finely, and mash it.
Add the mashed chili pepper to the potato mixture and mix well.
Shape the Aloo Chops:
Take a portion of the potato mixture and shape it into small patties or croquettes.
Coat the Aloo Chops:
Beat the remaining egg in a small bowl.
Dip each potato patty into the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Fry the Aloo Chops:
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot before adding the patties.
Fry the patties on low heat until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping as needed.
Serve:
Remove the fried aloo chops from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.
